Multi Instrumental Programmes

FIFTHS FRONT COVER b 1 2020.jpg

FIFTHS is whole class ensemble programme that aims to give KS2 pupils the opportunity to sing and to have a hands-on experience of a variety of instruments. All the songs are stylistically varied with lyrics that have musical relevance. Ideally suited to Year 4 or Year 5 classes.

The programme incorporates learning to read music notation, singing, improvisation and the opportunity to play percussion recorder, guitar, violin and keyboard.

As with all Groove ‘n’ Play programmes, FIFTHS is designed to be accessible, fun, practical in approach, and musically engaging.

FIFTHS can be an instrumental ensemble progression route from the Sticks and Song Series or can be used as an entry level First Access programme.

Featuring: Stick Cup and Pad, The Rap, The Salsa

FIFTHS 2 gives pupils a further opportunity to develop their music skills, technique and understanding through practical music making. All the songs are stylistically varied with lyrics that have musical relevance. Ideally suited to Year 5, Year 6, and Year 7 classes.

The programme continues to build up a class ensemble and incorporates reading music notation, singing, and the opportunity to play percussion, recorder, violin, and keyboard.

In addition, there is the opportunity for existing pupil instrumentalists to play at their own level either following written parts or through improvisation. The vocal element of the programme extends the pupils’ ability to sing in different styles, in parts, and develops their improvisation techniques.

Featuring: The I.T. (Italian Terms) Rap, Talk About Jazz, The Waltz
