Instrumental Programmes

Brass Cover.png

The classroom brass instrumental programme is written for trumpets and trombones. Ideally suited to Year 5, Year 6 and Year 7 classes, the Brass programme builds up a class ensemble and incorporates reading music notation, improvisation and performance.
 

The programme includes pieces that initially cover an instrumental range of trumpet: C-G, trombone: F-B flat. The range is then extended to an octave for more advanced pupils.

 

All sessions are designed to support the development of music skills, knowledge and understanding.  The sessions include warm-ups, rhythm and instrumental exercises with accessible groovy music related to the progression of technique and musical development. Children will be able to demonstrate their musical understanding and learning through performance.

The guitar and mini bass programme builds up a class ensemble and incorporates reading music notation, improvisation and performance. Ideally suited to Year 4, Year 5, Year 6 and Year 7 classes.
 

The programme includes stylistically varied repertoire. Ranges: mini bass: E-upper A, guitar: E -upper G, basic major, minor and 7th chords, picking (pima) and strumming techniques. 

 

All sessions are designed to support the development of music skills, knowledge and understanding.  The sessions include warm-ups, rhythm and instrumental exercises with  cool repertoire related to the progression of technique and musical development. Children will be able to demonstrate their musical understanding and learning through performance.

The Strings programme builds up a class ensemble and incorporates reading music notation, improvisation and performance. Ideally suited to Year 4, Year 5, Year 6 and Year 7 classes.
 

The programme includes ensemble pieces for violin, viola, cello and double bass that cover open strings progressing to basic fingering in 1st position.

 

All sessions are designed to support the development of music skills, knowledge and understanding.  The sessions include warm-ups, rhythm and instrumental exercises with cool and accessible pieces related to the progression of technique and musical development. Children will be able to demonstrate their musical understanding and learning through performance.

The classroom woodwind instrumental programme is written for flutes and clarinets in C. Ideally suited to Year 4, Year 5, Year 6 and Year 7 classes, the programme builds up a class ensemble and incorporates reading music notation, improvisation and performance.
 

The programme includes pieces that initially cover an instrumental range: flute D-D’, clarinet G-G’.

 

All sessions are designed to support the development of music skills, knowledge and understanding.  The sessions include warm-ups, rhythm and instrumental exercises with cool and catchy music related to the progression of technique and musical development. Children will be able to demonstrate their musical understanding and learning through performance.
